Where is Foss Running Camp located?

Foss Running Camp is located at Camp Wahnee, 128 Wahnee Road in Torrington, CT. 06790

What should I bring?

- Sufficient clothing for a week of camp; include a swimsuit!

- Running gear, and two or more pairs of running shoes.

- Rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellant.

- Bedding; sleeping bag or sheets, blanket(s), and pillow.

- Warm clothing, our nights can get cold!

- Personal hygiene items, towels, shower clogs, etc.

- A great attitude!


What are the age requirements?

Foss Running Camp does not have age restrictions.  Foss Running Camp is geared towards high school XC runners however and they make up  99% of our campers or more.  We do typically have 1-3 middle school athletes in camp and on occasion runners will attend F.R.C. prior to their freshman year in college as well.

What about food allergies?

Our kitchen staff is able to accommodate gluten, nut, dairy and other allergies.  We also provide vegetarian options. Make sure your cabin coach is aware of any food allergies.

What about medications?

Our medical staff will collect all medications at check-in and store them in our medical facility.

What are the accommodations like?

Each cabin at Foss Running Camp has its' own sinks, showers, and toilet facilities within the cabin.  Each camper has their own storage area at their bed and an outlet.  The cabins have ceiling fans as well.

How much do campers run?

Foss Running Camp offers multiple opportunities to run throughout each day. Our campers range from those just entering the sport to state and national level competitors. Each of our campers is encouraged to train at a level appropriate for their history and performance.

What is there to do besides run?

Foss Running Camp offers the full summer camp experience. Activities include but are not limited to the following: lake swimming and waterfront activities, a swimming pool, numerous basketball, pickleball, volleyball, and tennis courts. The camp has multiple fields to accommodate soccer, frisbee, baseball, the Foss Olympics, etc. There are guest speakers to educate our campers on their training, racing, diet, injury prevention and treatment, as well as team building and other topics.
